keyboard_arrow_downIt reads as decoration and it is not. In a group that plays weekly, hands get left on racks: somebody takes a call, somebody refills a glass, and three minutes later four people are looking at four identical racks trying to remember which was theirs.
Four colours ends that permanently. Players take a colour, keep it, and the question never arises again.
Racks are frequently sold in pairs, which equips half a table. The outcome is that two players conceal their hands properly and two hold theirs up, which is not a game anybody enjoys.
Four is the number to insist on.
It moves the face down wall forward so nobody reaches across the table. On a long wall, pushing by hand tips tiles flat and costs a rebuild.
Run it end to end when it arrives. A pusher that catches will pull the wall out of line every time it is used, and that is a fault worth returning rather than living with.
Racks are cut to a tile height. Measure a tile before ordering: a rack sized for American tiles will not hold a taller Chinese tile properly, and a mini travel tile will slide about inside it.
Wipe clean. Stack rather than sliding them against each other, since that is what scratches a clear finish.
