Mahjong Tile Storage Bag, Waterproof Canvas

A waterproof canvas bag made for tile storage, in two colours, weighing almost nothing so all the weight is the set itself.

    • Made for tiles rather than adapted from a handbag, so the shape is right.
    • Waterproof canvas keeps damp away from wooden boxes and paper cards travelling with the set.
    • Almost no weight of its own, which matters when the contents are heavy.
    • Two colours, so more than one set can be told apart.

    Bags made for tiles

The mahjong bag category contains two quite different products: handbags with a mahjong name, and bags actually shaped around a tile set. This is the second.

The difference is depth. A tile set is a thick, dense object, and a bag designed around a phone and a wallet cannot take it regardless of how wide it is.

Waterproofing, and what it is protecting

The tiles themselves shrug off water. What does not is everything travelling with them: a wooden box, a paper league card, a score pad, leather racks.

A waterproof outer means the walk from a car in the rain does not end with components drying on a radiator, which is what warps wood.

    Weight

Fifty grams. That is essentially nothing, and it is the right answer for a storage bag: every gram the bag weighs is a gram added to a set that is already the heavy part.

    What it does not do

It protects against loss and weather, not against impact. Anything stacked on top of a soft bag presses on the tiles inside. For a set stored under other things, a rigid case is the better answer.

    Care

Wipe clean. Do not machine wash, which strips the waterproof treatment. Air it out after a wet trip rather than storing it damp.

    How to play Mahjong ?

     Image

Step 1 — Build the Wall

At the beginning of the game, all Mahjong tiles are shuffled face down on the table. Each player then stacks their tiles into a wall. Once the walls are connected together, every player draws their starting hand of tiles.

    Step 2 — Draw & Discard

Players take turns drawing one tile and discarding another. The goal is to slowly build the perfect combination of sequences, pairs, and matching sets while paying attention to the tiles discarded by opponents.

Step 3 — Complete Your Winning Hand

Win the game by completing a full Mahjong hand before the other players. Strategy, observation, and timing are key — every decision can change the outcome of the game and make each round exciting and unique.

    A Set Worth Collecting

More than just a board game, each Mahjong set is a true collector’s piece. From elegant tiles to unique designs and premium finishes, every detail is made to stand out.

Build your own collection, showcase your favorite sets at home, and enjoy products that combine entertainment with beautiful décor.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to store Mahjong tiles?

    keyboard_arrow_down

Dry, supported and out of direct sun, which fades the colour fill over the years. Keep the tiles in their case or racked in the box they came in, then put that inside something that keeps damp away: this bag is waterproof canvas at 0.05 kg, so it adds protection without adding weight. Avoid stacking anything heavy on top for long periods, since a soft bag passes pressure straight to the tiles.

How big of a bag do you need for Mahjong tiles?

    keyboard_arrow_down

Depth decides it. A tile set is a thick, dense block, so a bag that is wide but shallow will not close over it however roomy the photograph looks. This one is shaped around a set rather than adapted from a handbag, but its interior dimensions are not published, so measure your case at its thickest point first. Allow extra room if a score pad or a league card travels alongside.

What is the 1 4 7 rule in Mahjong?

    keyboard_arrow_down

A memory shortcut for runs within a suit. Numbered tiles group into three families, 1 4 7, 2 5 8 and 3 6 9, and the pattern shows at a glance which tile finishes a partial sequence and which discards carry risk. It matters most in variants where reading an opponent's wait is part of play. Nothing to do with storage, though it is learned across many evenings with the same set.

How to make a Mahjong bag?

    keyboard_arrow_down

Build it around the case. Measure length, width and above all depth, add a little slack, and use a fabric that resists water, because the tiles cope with damp while the wooden box, the paper card and any leather racks do not. A full length zip stops loose pieces escaping. Keep the finished bag light: this one is 0.05 kg, and every gram it saves is a gram off a set that is already heavy.
