Acrylic racks scratch tiles. Tiles scratch racks. Nothing dramatic happens and after two years both look tired. A sleeve separates them, and it is one of the few purchases in this category that visibly changes how a set ages.
The second job and arguably the more valuable. Racks travel loose, get left at whichever house hosted, and a set ends up with three. Replacing a single matching rack is usually impossible.
Four racks in a sleeve are one object, and one object is much harder to leave behind.
It closes over whatever length is inside. Rack lengths run from 17 to 20 inches, and a zipped sleeve cut for one will not take another. A drawstring is indifferent, which for an accessory bought without measuring is the forgiving choice.
The thin plastic sleeve racks arrive in, which splits within a month and is thrown away. Nothing usually replaces it, and that is the point at which the scratching starts.
Wipe clean or hand wash, dry fully before use.
