Knowing which of those you want is the entire decision. A structured bag looks composed when empty; a soft one looks like nothing until it is filled and then follows the body.
Under half a kilo empty is unusual for real leather, and it is felt over a day. Most leather shoulder bags start at a kilo before anything is put in them, which is a third of what a compact mahjong set weighs.
Worth insisting on. Open topped and magnetically closed bags are fine in a quiet room and useless in a crowd or on public transport. A zip is the only closure that actually secures the contents.
Sheepskin scratches more easily than cowhide and it does not hide the marks. On a soft bag those marks read as patina; on a structured one they would read as damage.
It also stretches slightly with use, so a bag that is exactly the right size when new will be marginally roomier after a year.
Dry cloth, conditioner sparingly since sheepskin absorbs quickly. Store it stuffed lightly rather than flat, and keep it out of rain.
